SanFrancisco the
City by the Bay
|
Here wa are in the suprisingly beautiful botanical gardens of SanFrancisco. |
SanFrancisco is one of those citys that people love to visit.
I really enjoy the place, but I would not want to live there (too crowded).
We drove up and down highway 1 North and South from Sanfrancisco. One
part of this drive we have decided to call "the death drive." We say this
because you are driving down this road, and the edge of a shear cliff is
two feet from you. Wine country is an absolute must. The entire area is
one giant vineyard. Drive up through Napa Valley, and Sonoma Valley and you
will be rewarded with beautiful scenery, and wine tasting (if that is your
thing). We also spent the better part of two days in Monterey California.
This city is fantastic. It has some of the most beautiful coastal scenery
anywhere. That is also where Peeble Beach is. Finally we spent several
hours in Muir Woods. This ancient forrest is host to a grove of coastal redwoods.
These are some of the most impressive trees I have ever seen.
Words on "The Death Drive":
We were driving along highway 1 from Muir Woods to the city. Suddnely
you come out to the coast, and you are driving a matter of a few feet from
the edge of a shear cliff. It was one of the most beautiful drives we went
on the whole trip, but it was scarry. I was too concerned with driving to
enjoy the view. My wife got to enjoy the drive, being the passenger and
all. It was scary, but well worth it.
